Further development of cooperation between Russian and Croatian entrepreneurs is now seen at the regional level, Sergei Katyrin said at the Russian-Croatian Economic Forum held in the International Trade Center. About three hundred entrepreneurs from different Russian regions, a solid Croatian business delegation - all this shows the seriousness of the parties' intentions to maximize the ties. And participation in the forum of the President of the Republic of Croatia should be seen as an important positive signal to the business communities of the two countries, the head of the Federal Chamber said.

Croatia is well known to the business community of Russia - at one time the trade and economic cooperation between the USSR and Yugoslavia was very active. And today traditional contacts are not lost, Russian entrepreneurs are actively working in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, including Croatia. In Russia, Croatian companies are also well represented.

The past three years have been difficult for the world economy, and the trade turnover between the two countries has also fallen. But, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation noted, the lowest point is passed, the dynamics of trade turnover this year is positive - the turnover for seven months of the year increased by 64 percent compared to the same period in 2016. The further development of Russian-Croatian cooperation is connected with its transfer to innovative and high-tech areas (energy, shipbuilding, precision engineering), with the expansion of the investment component.

National business councils are now actively working on the development of interaction and through the regions. The business of Croatia Sergey Katyrin advised to participate more actively in exhibitions in the Russian province - there is often a way to the end user is shorter. The President of the Chamber also noted the close constructive relations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the Chamber of Commerce of Croatia. This, of course, helps the development of trade and economic cooperation between our countries, the expansion of business contacts, he stressed.

Luka Burilovich, the head of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Russian Ambassador to Croatia Anwar Azimov, the Croatian Ambassador to Russia Tonchi Stanicic, the chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Croatian intergovernmental commission for trade, economic and scientific-technical cooperation, Vladimir Puchkov, told about various aspects of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The participants of the forum were addressed by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Colinda Grabar-Kitarovich. Russia and Croatia this year celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. For a quarter of a century, the countries strengthened their cooperation. The mutual trade is growing, mutual investments are being made, interaction is developing in energy, engineering, IT, tourism. Countries can count on a promising future, the head of the Croatian state stressed.

Within the framework of the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (CPH). The document was signed by the head of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Platonov and the head of KhPK Luka Burilovich.

Then there were presentations of companies, the investment potential of Croatia was presented. Business negotiations between Croatian and Russian companies were held. New business opportunities were discussed in such areas as agriculture, shipbuilding, energy, infrastructure, engineering, metalworking, transportation, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, cosmetics.
