The Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation reports that Russia ranked tenth in the rating of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the rating of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 2017, one point ahead of such technologically advanced countries as Japan and Norway. The report "The Global Cybersecurity Index" (GIC) is published on the website of the ITU.
According to the ITU for 2017, Russia has also outstripped a number of other major world leaders in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). So, according to the rating, Great Britain took 12 place, South Korea - 13th, Finland - 16th, Germany - 24th, Italy - 31st. A total of 193 countries took part in the study.
In the modern digital world, cybercrime is a key threat to the growth of the world economy. Increasing the culture of citizens' behavior on the Internet, as well as the dissemination of comprehensible universal rules for combating cybercrime, can help in the fight against such crimes. Recall, the Ministry of Communications of Russia consistently advocates the need to develop such rules and calls on all states to broad cooperation in the field of information security and protection of the ICT infrastructure. Thus, the issues of information security, as well as the management of critical Internet infrastructure are regularly discussed, at the meetings of the G20, at the UN platform, at the meetings of the ministers of telecommunications and information technologies of the BRICS countries. Information security is also an important part of the program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" prepared by the Russian Ministry of Communications. The program was adopted by the order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1632-r of July 28, 2017.
